[00:00:00] Welcome to the CGN podcast. My name is Nick Katie and on this episode we have something special for you.
[00:00:05] For the first time we are releasing the messages from the CGN International Conference here on the podcast.
[00:00:11] This year's conference was really good and whether you attended the conference and want to hear the messages again,
[00:00:17] or if you didn't make it to the conference and want to hear what was shared,
[00:00:20] we're excited to make these messages available to you. The theme of the 2024 CGN International Conference was
[00:00:27] Hope, Suffering and Glory studies in the book of 1 Peter. The first message was taught by Pastor Wayne Taylor.
[00:00:35] Pastor Wayne has been a pioneer in the Calvary Chapel movement. He's been involved in planting
[00:00:39] over 50 churches in the Pacific Northwest in Russia and in Europe. Wayne has also served on the executive
[00:00:47] team of CGN for the last several years. This episode is also available on video so if you're
[00:00:54] podcast app supports video then you can also watch the message. We hope you'll be blessed by it.
[00:00:59] Here's Pastor Wayne. Just really glad today to speak about hope. Hope, you know Paul talked
[00:01:10] about faith, hope and love being the three things that remain and the greatest of these is love.
[00:01:20] But you know what? It's that lack of hope that is the worst enemy when the enemies
[00:01:31] trying to stop someone from receiving that love and it's the hope that the Lord has given us this
[00:01:41] so amazing. So let's turn in our Bibles. Our first study here in 1 Peter chapter 1 and we'll read
[00:01:49] that together and then we'll pray and get going. Okay, 1 Peter 1, 1 through 12. Now this series of
[00:02:00] studies to me is hope in a difficult world. Just the whole thing is hope in a difficult world.
[00:02:09] And our session today is hope that turns troubles into triumphs. That's what Jesus specializes
[00:02:20] and you know what? It's actually the troubles that are necessary to bring forth the triumphs.
[00:02:29] And he uses that to make us more like him and to receive the love and the other things to
[00:02:35] build the faith that's going to enable us to show the love and give the love and receive the love
[00:02:43] because without it. It's a mess. So let's read these these first verses that we're going to cover.
[00:02:52] First Peter 1 starting at verse 1 through 12. Peter and apostle of Jesus Christ,
[00:02:59] to the pilgrims of the dispersion in Pontus Galicia, Capidosa, Asia and Bethanyia,
[00:03:06] elect according to the foreign knowledge of God the Father in sanctification of the Spirit for
[00:03:13] obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ. Do you love it when that little phrase comes out?
[00:03:21] The sprinkling of the blood of Jesus covers and takes care of the difficulties, the messes.
[00:03:31] And so it goes on and it says, Grace to you, to you brothers and peace be multiplied blessed.
[00:03:41] Be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who according to His abundant mercy
[00:03:46] has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
[00:03:54] To an inheritance, incorruptible and undefiled, and that does not fade away,
[00:04:00] reserved in heaven for you who are kept by the power of God through faith,
[00:04:08] force salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice,
[00:04:14] though now for a little while if need be. And it is need be. The Lord knows what we need,
[00:04:22] even the difficult things and the messes that we make. He knows what He's going to do to help us
[00:04:30] come through that and bring Him glory. So to an inheritance, incorruptible and
[00:04:37] undefiled that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you who are kept by the power of God through
[00:04:43] faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. Peter, he speaks about the last time
[00:04:51] a lot in his first book there of first Peter and you know, he's coming soon.
[00:05:01] It's nearer than it's ever been. Amen? I mean, a day has gone by. We're one day closer.
[00:05:11] That's what we're saying. We're not trying to make points by saying it. We just believe
[00:05:17] He has promised. He has promised. You know, one of these days, the dead and Christ will rise first.
[00:05:26] And we who are alive and remain will be caught up to be with the Lord in the air and will always
[00:05:32] be with Him. So there is that hope that is so amazing. In verse 6, in this you greatly rejoice,
[00:05:39] though now for a little while, if need be, you have been great, great, great,
[00:05:46] by various trials that the genuineness of your faith being much more precious than gold that
[00:05:54] perishes. Though it is tested by fire. Okay, there's the testing, testing by fire. It may be found to
[00:06:02] raise honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ. See, that's the triumph.
[00:06:10] That's the triumph. He allows these things to come in but there's a triumph that's coming in
[00:06:15] as well through it. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be,
[00:06:22] you've been greeted by various trials that the genuineness of your faith is your faith, genuine.
[00:06:29] What does it take to make it not genuine? We need that faith and he's the author and the
[00:06:39] the what? Fisture of our faith, which we love being much more precious than gold
[00:06:46] that perishes, though it is tested by fire. It may be found to praise honor and glory at the
[00:06:52] revelation of Jesus Christ again, whom having not seen you love. And though now you do not see him
[00:06:59] yet believing you rejoice with joy inexpressible or unspeakable. It says in the King James,
[00:07:07] and full of glory receiving the end of your faith, the salvation of your souls. Of this salvation,
[00:07:16] the prophets, okay, the ones who've written the Old Testament, the amazing prophets
[00:07:21] who sought out these things that the Lord was putting on their hearts. They inquired and searched
[00:07:29] carefully who prophesied of the grace that would come to you searching what or what manner of time
[00:07:36] the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when he testified beforehand, the sufferings
[00:07:44] of Christ and the glories that would follow to them it was revealed that not to themselves, but to us
[00:07:52] they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have
[00:07:58] preached the gospel. Now that's us, this is the generation, this is our time
[00:08:07] to preach the gospel, to bring glory and blessing and fullness of joy, fullness of joy,
[00:08:21] triumphant. And so he goes on and he says, is revealed that not to themselves but to us they
[00:08:27] were ministering the things which have now been reported to you through those who have preached
[00:08:32] the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit. We need the power of the Spirit as we're talking to people.
[00:08:40] And just being alert when he wants you to ask a question or share something, it just
[00:08:46] you know, show the Lord's love to them in some way. Preach the gospel to you by the Holy
[00:08:53] Spirit sent from heaven things which angels desire to look into. Let's pray. Dear God, we thank you
[00:09:02] for these verses, we're so blessed by what Peter has written, we're so blessed with your word
[00:09:11] and so I pray, Lord, that you will help us as we learn more about Peter, as we learn more
[00:09:17] about what happened with him and how you are at work in us as well. We're not apostles in that same
[00:09:24] way at all but we are called and so Lord, we just pray that we'll rise up Lord, you're still moving.
[00:09:35] You're still moving. The Jesus revolution is still going and we are so excited Lord, we bless
[00:09:43] you for it. So speak to us now. We pray in your precious name. All right Peter is a guy
[00:09:53] that we like generally. He's a man who experienced though hopelessness and despair. We'll talk
[00:10:03] about that up close and very personal. Not that Peter was naturally a melancholy man
[00:10:11] because he wasn't. Now maybe you are. Maybe that's a struggle you have and you're not called to be a
[00:10:18] melancholy man. You're called to be person filled with joy and with the right thing, the simple
[00:10:26] faith and hope that we've been given. So he's very upbeat, he's confident, he's let's do it.
[00:10:36] He was a rugged fisherman but with a teddy bear's heart. He was this guy that was sympathetic
[00:10:46] and he was passionate and very spontaneous. He did everything with all his heart even failed with
[00:10:53] all his heart. He was that sort of a person, he was kind of a man's man and he did everything
[00:11:01] and he was extremely brave and I would say ridiculously confident. Maybe you have that problem,
[00:11:09] you're ridiculously confident because the confident cannot just be in self. It has to be a real
[00:11:18] confidence that he's building in you because of facing trials, because of facing hardship and even
[00:11:26] suffering sometimes. We don't understand it, it's hard and it won't be there in heaven but it's here
[00:11:35] and it's something that we have to face. Now Peter was so devoted to those he loved and when Peter
[00:11:43] chose to follow Jesus, his commitment was total and boundless but like each of us he was
[00:11:54] imperfect and very fallen just like we are in our enemy. The temperature wanted to steal,
[00:12:01] kill and destroy our trust in Jesus but the Lord had already said but I have come that you might
[00:12:09] have life that you might have it more abundantly. And so with Peter he just loved the Lord and
[00:12:20] he just wanted to please the Lord but he couldn't rely on himself once it came down to the
[00:12:36] rate of not very long five different times he said I'm going to die on a cross and five different
[00:12:47] different times he said and I will rise again but they just seem to forget that because they didn't
[00:12:55] understand this we're headed toward something amazing life changing that's going to revolutionize
[00:13:02] the world and individuals people that you love people that you you know he's he's going to do
[00:13:13] that and so with Peter in Luke 2231 he said Simon Simon Satan has asked for you to sift you like
[00:13:27] wheat now he used the name Simon but he'd already changed his name to rock and to the stone
[00:13:35] in the rock but now it's Simon Simon means listen or hear hear what I'm saying now Peter Simon Simon
[00:13:47] you know the enemy has wants to sift you like wheat but Peter thought he could handle it he thought
[00:13:57] he could handle it in fact as they went through and talked about it some more with people
[00:14:04] Peter said well you know I could see the other guys falling away I could see them denying
[00:14:13] but Peter said I will never deny will you I will never fall away from you no way I'm not some
[00:14:21] you know but Jesus said I have prayed for you you know the Lord's praying for you
[00:14:34] you know the Bible says over and over again that he's praying for us he ever lives to make
[00:14:39] intercession for us you say no one's praying for me or really rooting for me yes he is yes he is
[00:14:47] now we're servants of the Lord here and I want you to know that all of this is applies to you too
[00:14:55] along with those that you've been telling this is for you people the Lord saying it's for you
[00:15:02] are you glad that his blood still covers sins because you and I sin still we mess up but the Lord is
[00:15:12] faithful now Peter did deny him and then he denied him again because Jesus has said
[00:15:27] three times you will have denied me by the time the rooster grows he denied him again this time with
[00:15:37] explodives and cursing I don't know if the Lord has never done that he didn't know his flesh was
[00:15:51] that weak he didn't know his flesh was that weak yeah I'm transformed now well we're in process
[00:16:03] and it's good what the Lord is doing but Peter when that happened he began to weep and saw
[00:16:12] and sob convulsively he felt such guilt and shame and then the fatal blow was that Jesus
[00:16:23] cried out from the cross and he said it is finished and people that were looking on
[00:16:32] they saw him breathe his last and Peter's like no dad what was it do he wasn't thinking about
[00:16:49] resurrection even though the Lord had said I will rise again he wouldn't maybe even have a chance to
[00:16:59] apologize ever but then came Easter morning and up from the ground he arose
[00:17:08] with a mighty triumph or his foes he arose the victor from the dark domain and he lives forever
[00:17:21] with us his saints his disciples his believers as weak and whiny and whatever we are
[00:17:34] we get to be a part of it and so we're born again to a living hope how does such a special thing
[00:17:42] being born again to a living hope that's what struck him it's the new birth is because of his
[00:17:50] resurrection and three times in the opening chapter of first Peter he talks about hope
[00:17:58] how did this form formerly hopeless wreck become a herald of hope because he's writing to us now
[00:18:08] blessed be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ who according to his great mercy has caused
[00:18:15] us to be reborn to a living hope see it struck him a living hope it's all because of the resurrection
[00:18:25] he conquered we could jump up and down for joy on that he had a living hope why because Peter had a
[00:18:36] living not a dead Lord a living Lord who resurrected from his own tomb if Jesus after the cross had
[00:18:52] stayed dead Peter would have stayed depressed defeated well that's the end of that sometimes we
[00:19:04] think that we're going along in the course of our life we're trying to do it right but we hit a
[00:19:10] really difficult stretch and up well that was the end of that I guess no it's not there's a hope
[00:19:19] a true hope if if Christ hadn't risen from the dead Peter never would have risen from despair
[00:19:29] if Jesus Christ did not conquer death then life is a hopeless end right now as we said here
[00:19:41] if he did not rise again we're talking through our heads that are all blocked with whatever it is
[00:19:49] because without him having risen there's not that hope like Paul said he said if Christ has not been
[00:19:57] raised your faith is worthless one of the great apostles like Peter said that you are still in your
[00:20:07] sins and we are of all people most to be pitted you know some people they they're pitted they
[00:20:16] think we're not we're crazy we're we're all excited about some guy who died ages ago you know
[00:20:25] wow you're weird and sometimes I'm talking to people you know if Jesus didn't rise again
[00:20:34] then death is still the thing and there's no way to change it but if Peter and the disciples
[00:20:42] hadn't actually seen and experienced Jesus risen again they would have remained lifelong skeptics
[00:20:50] and cynics seven different times according to the documented accounts Peter saw Jesus
[00:20:58] and interacted with him sometimes it was by himself sometimes it was with the disciples there's a time
[00:21:05] with 500 plus people he was probably up there anyway seven different times up in Galilee is what I was talking
[00:21:14] about and these are recorded the people when Peter wrote this some of them many of them were still
[00:21:21] alive and I witnesses that you could check out no wonder he was willing to go to his death as a
[00:21:29] martyr for continuing to preach the gospel you know Caesar nearos saw that he would not stop
[00:21:36] preaching this message and he said you're gonna die now and Peter goes well you know I don't
[00:21:45] know I don't know if it's my time but you know if it is I want you to crucify me upside down
[00:21:52] because I'm not worthy to be crucified like my Lord was and I'm so glad to have been able to
[00:22:00] serve my Lord and he went to his death but he'd been born again to a living hope he'd already written that
[00:22:11] and now he's he's left it for us it's the Bible now and it's the truth I love that
[00:22:20] the Lord is so good you know I've had a chance to witness to a lot of people because when I'm in
[00:22:26] conversation with people that I don't know I want to bring it to the gospel one thing that always
[00:22:34] helps you do that if in your conversation if people say something negative about some one or if they say
[00:22:43] I've got this problem or if they say you know my dad's dying or you know whatever they say
[00:22:47] that's negative about someone or hurtful with someone you can always say hey you know what
[00:22:54] you were mentioning I really like to pray for that you might have maybe we stop and pray
[00:23:00] that's a witness right there you're just bringing Jesus right into it now I did that one time with
[00:23:07] guy and he was having a migraine headache I was at a workplace with him and he was having this terrible
[00:23:16] migraine headache and he was going oh and I didn't know what he was doing and so he was teaching me how to
[00:23:24] do gardening and I was at this place that's self-lourished and all this stuff anyway he was my
[00:23:33] teacher and so I heard this voice in my head saying ask if you can pray for him and so I did and he said
[00:23:42] yeah sure I guess and so I go okay so I start praying for him and as I'm praying for him I'm thinking
[00:23:49] but what if the Lord doesn't heal him and so I thought of what to say just in case God doesn't heal him
[00:23:59] and so I'm going through that while I'm praying you talk about praying and not having faith
[00:24:06] I was trying to say something that I could still say and it's okay he just wasn't able to heal you today
[00:24:14] you know just you have to wait a little bit whatever it was I was getting out and the Lord just
[00:24:21] spoke to me and he said quit talking like that to yourself and this is what the Lord said is
[00:24:28] exact words he says you know what you don't you never have to worry about my reputation
[00:24:35] you don't have to explain to people the Lord told me he says I'll take care of my own
[00:24:41] reputation if you don't mind and that's how the Lord is he's so good and he brings into the
[00:24:53] situation the gospel now I've had a chance to witness to a lot of Buddhist and Hindus and
[00:25:01] they believe in reincarnation they think that's that's the hope there is you get to reincarnate
[00:25:07] you know I've asked every time I just say how many times you have to reincarnate
[00:25:12] and they'll say something like well hundreds of times it takes a while you know to get there and others
[00:25:18] would say thousands thousands of times you have to go through this now this is their hope for facing
[00:25:24] death you have going to come back as a butterfly one of these times you know that's I'm kind
[00:25:29] of hoping for that they would say dumbest things because they want to have hope in death
[00:25:37] people have no hope but because Jesus conquered death not just for himself
[00:25:45] but for all of us what would it take to save the whole human race maybe one perfect person
[00:25:51] could die for another very imperfect person but how about all imperfect people who's going to save
[00:25:59] them it's going to take the God man who is fully man and died but he did it for every person who needs
[00:26:14] and will acknowledge and trust in him one guy even told me he goes and he was absolutely sure
[00:26:21] I don't know if it was I forget which which one of the Hindu things that was but he was he was like 80 million
[00:26:30] it's exactly 80 million and when he said that I go really where did you learn that he says no that's
[00:26:38] it's 80 million and he did not have a smile on his face or anything. In fact I lit up and I said
[00:26:46] I have some good news for you that is not is the most amazing thing you forget to 80 million
[00:26:54] this is how it works and the guy was so shocked to hear the actual gospel and I told him
[00:27:03] if you want to receive Jesus this is what you do and that was a really wonderful thing now
[00:27:10] you notice I'm trying to share the heart of what Peter is saying here and that is that we're still
[00:27:20] till the day we do pass to give out the gospel and we're to live out the gospel
[00:27:30] and I love how it says in Ephesians 210 it says we are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus
[00:27:38] for good works which he listen prepares beforehand for us to walk in you know that every day of
[00:27:50] your life is planned out by God and he always wants you ready because he's prepared some people
[00:27:57] beforehand and we can't be the generation that doesn't keep going with it because there are so many
[00:28:05] people people are wondering you know oh this is not a time when there's a revival going on what
[00:28:11] do you talking about it's never been a greater need than now right now and there is plenty of
[00:28:21] belief where you can say he wants it to happen he wants to bless now I want to read
[00:28:28] a parable to you and it's the parable in Matthew 13 I love how he gave seven parables
[00:28:38] and the sixth parable in that chapter which is Matthew 13 verses 45 and 46 this is what Jesus said
[00:28:47] his teaching he loved to teach through stories and parables and this is what he says the parable
[00:28:55] of the what pearl the parable of the pearl listen to this says the kingdom of heaven is like a
[00:29:05] merchant seeking beautiful pearls and then in verse 45 he says who when he found one pearl
[00:29:16] of great price he went and sold all that he had and he bought it Jesus is that merchant man
[00:29:27] because he has a bride that he's preparing without spot or wrinkle or any such thing and he wants
[00:29:36] more people to be part of that bride do you know in the new Jerusalem which is the place where we're
[00:29:42] living throughout the new heavens in the new earth there's this new Jerusalem and it has 12 gates
[00:29:50] and these 12 gates they're like the door or the gate to get in and the wall is a big wall
[00:30:02] it's 216 feet high and on the top it may be 216 feet wide they may even have races when we get there
[00:30:11] when that happens on top of the wall we don't know how it's going to look exactly we do know
[00:30:17] that the whole thing is going to be pure gold and we're going to be able to see through will see
[00:30:23] people that came to the Lord oh it's just going to be such an amazing time we even though you can
[00:30:28] see through it because it's so pure we won't have anything to hide so hey look look look
[00:30:34] hey you're doing you know your neighbors are going ah but Jesus purchased this pearl you know
[00:30:48] the pearl is a wonderful example actually a wonderful example of how the Lord
[00:30:57] causes us to keep growing and to become that pearl of great price to have that new birth
[00:31:05] and to have that living hope to have that incorruptible nature and inheritance in the future
[00:31:12] undefiled that doesn't fade away in this we can greatly rejoice if now for a little while
[00:31:21] if need be you have been grieved by various trials that the genuine your faith being much more
[00:31:28] precious than gold that perishes though it's tested by fire maybe found to praise honor and glory
[00:31:35] and you'll experience joy and expressible and full of glory the funnest way to live your life
[00:31:41] is to be his workmanship which is actually work of art it's the word poyaima
[00:31:49] and it's talking about artwork or a poem and he says that we're his work of art
[00:31:57] and he prepares things beforehand for us to walk in so I really want to encourage us
[00:32:02] that he has some fun days ahead for you it's a joy to serve the Lord now I wanted to share
[00:32:11] why this is such a cool thing because when I was just a boy about seven or eight years old my dad
[00:32:18] tried to convince me to eat oysters do you ever eat an oysters there's sick I don't know this
[00:32:25] there's a serious problem but my dad would actually drink them when he would eat them
[00:32:30] he would eat them raw and he would pour sauce or cream of some sort into the concoction
[00:32:38] and it looked like a slimy glass of actually not it was terrible and I just couldn't handle
[00:32:47] and then my mom would cook them he would cook the oysters those were even worse oh
[00:32:53] terrible but then I go where do you get this stuff you know it says will they actually make
[00:33:01] pearls and you're what they make pearls how did they do that well actually pieces of dirt
[00:33:11] get inside the shell or pieces of sand get inside the shell or also there are
[00:33:20] parasites from the sea whatever water place it is mollusks and different things like this
[00:33:27] and they come in and they get into the soft tissue of the oyster called their mantle and they
[00:33:33] become embedded there and it really hurts them it really hurts them and so they go to work
[00:33:43] secreting and creating this comforting bomb substance called nacra or mother of pearl and it's made
[00:33:51] up of little smooth crystals of calcium carbonate and oregano I cone chile on
[00:33:58] and this substance isn't this interesting you don't seem like you are interested but there's a
[00:34:06] it's coming it's coming pray that it will come anyway okay finally after concentric layers
[00:34:16] of all this stuff and their smooth layers that are liquid but then once it's done and there's no
[00:34:23] more pain and sorrow this smooth round and lustrously beautiful white jewel
[00:34:32] manifests itself and it is a pearl did you know that the only precious jewel made with living
[00:34:41] creatures is a pearl it's a pearl and it's like part of the living thing and the Lord provides
[00:34:52] you know I love second Corinthians chapter two verse 14 it might be on the screen
[00:34:59] if not this is what it says I had no rest in my spirit Paul said but thanks be to God who in Christ
[00:35:09] always leads us in triumph always leads us in triumph I hope you feel encouraged
[00:35:17] he always leads us in triumph he's not going to leave it oh that's a disaster
[00:35:23] this is my only disaster no the Lord doesn't have disasters if they're trusting in him with genuine faith
[00:35:31] and they give you a hope you know in Hebrews 11 it talks about faith right and it's the
[00:35:40] sort of these are the people that have trusted God and believed in God and it starts off with faith
[00:35:49] is the substance of what things hoped for he's going to take care of it faith is the substance
[00:35:58] of things hoped for and the evidence of things we don't see yet but you will see them
[00:36:09] and that's what he's telling us here and you know you think of Abraham for example
[00:36:16] Abraham was a guy who lived here on this earth and he's you lived in tents his whole time
[00:36:25] and the guy was rich but he was looking for a country that he'd never seen and just like it says
[00:36:32] here in first Peter Paul and Apostle of Jesus Christ verse 1 two the pilgrims or the aliens
[00:36:38] is another way of saying it we are pilgrims through this life we're aliens here that's why
[00:36:45] it's no fun here in a certain way it stinks in other ways and we could go on and on with
[00:36:55] adjectives on that one but we're pilgrims and Peter is talking about the pilgrims
[00:37:01] that have made it up to what's now today Turkey and the Lord was planting churches through
[00:37:08] Peter and Paul and they populated the whole area of Asia Minor or Turkey and then they were like
[00:37:17] okay God wants to do other things and so Peter or Paul in this case he gets this vision or
[00:37:24] dream and he hears the man from Macedonia say come we need you and you know where the Lord directed
[00:37:31] them right to Europe says okay we're done with Turkey and Asia Minor okay let's go over to Europe
[00:37:37] and plant some churches and that's why I have this Ephesus hat on you know because anyone knows
[00:37:45] it's unspearigial to be preaching with the hat on some of you were judging me earlier so quit it
[00:37:54] just kidding you guys the Lord is so good here was Abraham and the Lord began to show him
[00:38:05] just what he was gonna do and he gave him the promise land but even that is not the actual
[00:38:11] ultimate off you know plan or promise land because the Lord knows he knows and he's making his
[00:38:22] bride known and I love how Paul told the Philippians and Peter said some wonderful things like
[00:38:31] himself but in Philippians 1-8 he said I long for you brothers and sisters with the affection
[00:38:39] of Jesus Christ do you love people with the affection of Jesus? Do you love your congregation
[00:38:50] which is the bride of Christ many of them. Do you love them with the affection of Christ
[00:38:58] you know what that word affection and Greek is splanked on you know it's splanked down we get the word
[00:39:04] spline these are people that you love way down in your spleen it's weird it's like a gut level
[00:39:14] love and Paul in in that chapter said I'm loving the Philippians with that love and one last thing
[00:39:25] the gate to go through the wall in the Nigeruslam and go to wherever you're going in the
[00:39:36] Nigeruslam the gate is made up of pearl a whole gate it's a gate that is huge I don't know where
[00:39:45] he's gonna get the oyster for that those 12 or not you know there's gonna be guardian angels
[00:39:53] because in Hebrew 1114 it says that we have in a sense garden what I say yeah guardian angels that's
[00:40:06] what I was trying to say okay and my thought is that those gates are gonna let with the pearl
[00:40:14] gate they're gonna let people in and out anyway the whole point is one single pearl is gonna
[00:40:22] be what the all the gates are made out of it's a reminder what it took for Jesus to give all that we
[00:40:34] needed it took so much and that all that it's taking for us to be changed to be changed from an oyster
[00:40:45] because of irritation and annoyance you know there's a lot of people in the church and they come from
[00:40:51] oysters you know it's trials it's stuff that comes into your life and it's and so the Lord creates a
[00:41:00] pearl out of it so good Isaiah 53 talks about it it says that we as sinners we got into the Lord's
[00:41:11] tender loving heart and that he took upon himself our sin our dirt he bore it in his sinless body at
[00:41:21] the cross he was wounded dare people he was wounded for your transgressions he was bruised for
[00:41:35] your inequities the chastisement for your well-being so that you'll learn and all learn to do the right
[00:41:43] thing because he died for all the wrong things that we had piled up in our lives and we still do sometimes
[00:41:53] by his stripes we are healed this is the Lord without spotter blemish he washes this
[00:42:02] right as snow I love how Isaiah 118 says though your sins are as darkest scarlet I will make you
[00:42:11] as snow and in another part of that he says make you white as wool so somehow he's going to
[00:42:20] whiten and clean up the wool and it's going to be white too snow and wool so when you're kind of
[00:42:29] or really hot great I don't know that's an obvious something that you get right out of the Bible
[00:42:39] right there okay now that's where I got it I love it it's so amazing God's word to your Jesus
[00:42:53] thank you for these dear friends thank you for this community this loved community thank you for
[00:43:04] loving the people in this church thank you for his example of love to us who are serving in churches
[00:43:13] and serving in ministries if you feel that you could use more hope by trusting
[00:43:23] Jesus more in what he's doing and receiving the love if you feel you need more of that would you stand
[00:43:31] and let's just pray together for each of us who have this big knee let's stand right now
[00:43:37] and close and prayer with us thank you Lord thank you God let's let's say the Lord's prayer
[00:43:46] our Father who art in heaven how it would be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth
[00:43:58] as it is in heaven and give us this day our daily bread and lead us not into temptation but deliver
[00:44:08] from evil for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever
