Bartimaeus is blind, but he senses the presence of Jesus coming into his life, so he did whatever it took to get to him, abandoning formalities at the risk of being disruptive to the crowd around him. Often, social norms, circumstances or even personal habits are obstacles in our way of getting to Jesus. They are our "blindspots." But like Bartimaeus, even though we're blind, we can see—through faith.
